About the role:

  • Hours: Mon-Fri (Flexible working hours)
  • Salary: £35-£45K
  • Location: Hybrid with office in central London

What we’re looking for:

A real go-getter, who’s strategic and relationship-driven to secure us the right listings to grow the business. This person will need to be highly-organised, commercially-focussed, and have a proven track record of not only building out a solid sales pipeline, but creating partnerships that drive results.

You will report directly to the founders, and will be responsible for winning new business, managing partnerships, building long-term customer relationships, and developing the plans that grow our market share.

The ideal candidate:

  • 4+ years working in account management / sales / partnerships—specifically one of the “big four” retailers, and preferably also a major convenience customer.
  • Comes from the FMCG or lifestyle category.
  • Is obsessed with hunting for and winning new business!
  • Is results-oriented and can demonstrate a track record of wins that have impacted previous businesses.
  • Possesses a strategic mindset, driven by solid commercial acumen.
  • Moves fasts and gets things done.
  • Enjoys the hustle and the high of sales (in other words, is relentless).
  • Has experience in account management, and with building and executing sales strategies.
  • Is a total charmer, who is amazing with people and can build great relationships.
  • Has strong accountability and a solid work ethic.
  • Has a positive attitude and a tenacious character; things in our business can change quickly, so being comfortable reacting fast to unexpected opportunities and challenges will make this job exciting for you.
  • Proactive, independent and autonomous, while also friendly and collaborative in a small team and with our most valued partners.
  • Will be available to work in our London offices (Farringdon) at least 2 days per week.
  • Aligned with the mission and ethics of Citizens of Soil, specifically wanting to progress a mission around turning a commodity into a community to benefit people and planet.
  • Enjoys working in small, entrepreneurial, start-up environments.
  • Loves food & drink (it’s nice to take pleasure in what you do!)

Your duties will include:

  • Leading the development and execution of our sales strategy.
  • Winning new independent, grocery, and hospitality customers for our olive oils.
  • Aligning business and customer objectives to develop and execute joint business plans, leading to sales growth and strengthened customer relationships.
  • Identifying and implementing strategies to maximise impact of trade spend.
  • Working with our Ops & Finance lead on the total UK sales budget and forecast.
  • Working with Operations to ensure production and demand forecast are aligned.
  • Identifying and improving sales processes and procedures to help build out the team in the future.
  • Analysing sales data to identify opportunities.
  • Working closely with the wider team to ensure seamless customer experience.
  • Collecting category and competitor information and sharing internally.
  • Working with Marketing on relevant POS for each customer type/sales channel.
  • Being a champion of our sustainability ethos and looking at every decision from an impact lens.
